ATW Gold Corp, (ATW: TSX-V) (“ATW” or the “Company”), is pleased to report that the Company and RUC Mining Contractors Pty Ltd. have jointly signed a contract for underground development and stoping at the Company’s wholly owned Burnakura Gold Mine (“Burnakura”) located in Western Australia. The Burnakura Gold Mine is on track to begin full production March 1, 2009.
In recent weeks several important milestones have been met:
CIL Plant Commissioning
- The crushing circuit has been refurbished and commissioned. The plant is fully operational and will begin processing run of mine (ROM) ore on February 22, 2009.
Mining Contract and Operations Personnel
- RUC Mining Contractors Pty Ltd. have mobilized their underground mining equipment to site and are set for mining ore on March 1st at a rate of 12,000 tonnes/month.
- Underground communications upgrade has been completed.
- Underground power generators were purchased and have arrived on site.
- Key personnel including a General Manager and Chief Metallurgist have been hired.
Revised Mine Plan
A revised mining plan has been completed by Mining Plus Pty Ltd. Key metrics of the revised plan include:
- Initial 35,000 oz/year mine plan
- 12,000 tonnes/month production
- 8 gram/tonne head grade
